A look at how briefs become delivered cloth — the constraints, the calls we made, and what shipped.
Womenswear brand
The brief called for a lightweight, breathable base cloth that would hold a fluid drape without creasing through a full day of wear. We shortlisted mills across two markets, ran a comparative handfeel review against the client's reference swatch, and settled on a construction that met both the aesthetic and the price point — delivered at a minimum order quantity the brand could commit to.
Hotel group
A property rollout needed textiles that would survive commercial laundering without losing colour or hand. We specified constructions against the required wash cycles, held colour consistency across production lots, and phased shipments to match the fit-out schedule so nothing sat in storage.
Private label
No local fabric matched the brief, so we developed one. Working from the client's artwork we coordinated print trials at mill level, layered in a performance finish, and produced a cloth held exclusively for that label — the kind of differentiation an off-the-shelf catalogue cannot offer.
Customer satisfaction
Weftlyn works with trusted garment manufacturers, fashion labels and hospitality groups across Sri Lanka. Most of our work is repeat work — the same customers coming back for the next season, because the sample that was approved is the cloth that was delivered, on the date it was promised.
Who we work with
They understood the handfeel we were after from the first swatch pack, and held it through production. We have not had to re-approve a lot since.
The MOQ was the thing that had stopped us developing our own base cloth. Weftlyn negotiated it down to a quantity we could actually commit to.
Documentation, clearance and delivery were handled without us chasing anything. Shipments arrived in line with our cutting schedule.
